The Hebrew Language was revived toward the end of the 19th century and into the 20th century. Hebrew was a revival that took place simultaneously both in Europe and Israel. It was a revival in which Hebrew changed from the Sacred Language of Judaism to a widely written Language and spoken today throughout Israel. 

 

ZEPHANIAH 3:9

For then will I turn to the people a pure language that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve Him with one consent.

  

God's intent is that those in Covenant with Him are unified in language. One day God's People will be, when we flow with the languages of Heaven and even of the Earth. As a living example, the transition of the Hebrew from primarily a written Language to a National Language spoken in Israel and abroad was due to the God-given vision of Eliezer Ben-Yehuda who grew up in Lithuania during the Russian war on the Ottoman Empire. There, his vision of a Jewish State where its people would speak their own language was birthed.

 

ISAIAH 66:7-8

Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

 

Eliezer Ben-Yehuda’s vision of Israel as a Nation State was prophesied by the Living God. And so today, the Prophecies of Israel’s revival – it's Language, it's Rebirth, it's Repatriation, have materialized: all mentioned in Zephaniah 3: 9; Isaiah 66:7-9; and other verses in the Bible.
